“When I first received this assignment from Charlie at Models Direct I rubbed my hands together, only twenty miles to drive and on my birthday, what more could I ask for!
The shoot was for First City Nursing Services start time 11am and as I said only a short distance to drive. After eventually locating the shoot site, my Sat.Nav getting itself in a twist before my contact the charming Debbie came to my aid and collected me from my car, not a great start to what turned out to be a most enjoyable day.
Meeting the residents and the very helpful care staff and my fellow models made it a very pleasant shoot to be part of, with work both inside and outside on an overcast and drizzly day but everybody’s spirits were high and we all enjoyed working together.
This was the first assignment I have received from Charlie who has been very helpful and patient with me especially my complete lack of understanding of modern technology, thank you Charlie for such a great present on my birthday!”
If you think you have a mini supermodel or little superstar on your hands then the Models Direct team can’t wait to hear from you….

A very exciting female empowerment collaboration took place in Liverpool last week and Models Direct were delighted to provide the models who were certainly given a day to remember….
Models Direct’s booking agent Charlie, coordinated the models for an exciting collaboration of two big brands, the brief from the client was they wanted ‘real’ women all with different hair types and based in the Liverpool area – no problem!!
With the demand for ‘real’ model families continually growing, Models Direct are on the look out for some more to join the books and our latest campaign found one VERY special family…
When casting a family for a campaign or shoot the chemistry is much more natural and easier to work with if it’s a ‘real’ family apposed to a family that has been put together. Model families are used lots in commercial modelling, Models Direct has supplied families to many large household names, holiday companies, brands and also charitable campaigns, the demand is always growing!
‘As a model it’s important to inform your agent about your online presence, if this is not something they have already asked then make sure they have your Instagram handle and following numbers – this is all really important information that your agent, Models Direct, can use when trying to secure you assignments and negotiating your rate.’
It was a first for both models Tharj and Emelie last week on their photographic assignment for one of the UK’s largest shopping centre’s – modelling an exciting new app, Models Direct were delighted to be able to offer this experience to this model pair….

Here’s a few helpful tips to help you get some great pics:
For natural shots the key to to keep the shoot time to a minimum, if you over think it it may appear forced and now show your true character. This is particularly the case if you are photographing children, they don’t sit still for long and the ultimate shot is when you capture their natural smiles!
Make sure the picture is taken at eye level or slightly from above, this will avoid the double chins and is a more flattering angle to shoot from.
Be careful what you have in the background, you don’t want the washing line as a backdrop, an untidy room or other people in the frame.
Babies and children are cute when they are eating, but a modelling agency does not need pictures of babies and toddlers with food round their mouths, we are unable to put them forward to clients so please make sure your child has a clean face in pics.
Use natural, outdoor locations, the light will be more complimentary and the background more professional.
When photographing close up, use the zoom on the camera rather than going in too close.
When uploading images to your online portfolio make sure they are not too small as when they are included in searches they can become pixalated and not of a high quality.
Don’t worry about trying to make every photograph completely perfect, have fun with it and don’t be scared to show your personality and character in the shots, this is a factor clients look for when selecting models for commercial purposes!
