How regional models are making waves in local campaigns

East, west, home is best…

Well, for some of our models, it certainly is!

The glamorous world of travel doesn’t suit everyone, which is why we always ask our new models whether they would ideally like to work across the UK, abroad or closer to home.

Or all three!

As one of the country’s leading modelling agencies – and with more than 35 years of operation behind us – we do, of course, place models on national and international bookings.

Some of our male, female and family models are very happy to travel to other parts of the country and to foreign climes for jobs (all expenses paid, of course!).

But others have family, work or studying commitments and just can’t spare the same amount of time away.

And for us, that is absolutely no trouble at all!

Models Direct operates regionally, as well as nationally and internationally, finding local work for local people.

We have small, niche business clients, such as boutiques, charities and organisations seeking to employ models who live within easy striking distance for their campaigns.

We also have major corporations and big brands with local and regional bases who approach us for people who can get to their shoots quickly and easily.

Some of our clients specifically request regional models to appear in their local campaigns.

They want to appeal to local people and make a point of employing local models and shooting in recognisable local locations.

For others, it is a question of convenience – a local model is on hand to be flexible with timings as well as availability for possible second or third follow-up shoots.

So yes, closer to home is best for some of our regional models – and some of these people do go on to make waves in local campaigns.

But there really are no rules here – we also have models who are happy to work close to home for some bookings and to travel further for others.

And what about you?

If you became a model, would you prefer working at home or away?

One of the great appeals of modelling is that it can take place almost anywhere.

So, if you do decide to apply to join us, spend a little time considering your preferences and let us know where you would like to work.

And remember, you are always free to change your mind, as circumstances often change.

We have models who have started out working regionally and then later decided to work further afield – and vice versa.

But what about our models? What do they tell us in their feedback?

Well, the Friend family has worked on assignments close to home.

This one was for the RSPCA and they told us afterwards:

“It was an early start to the day; however, we were excited about the shoot and to see where the destination would be.

“The shoot took place in Stroud, Gloucestershire, so thankfully it wasn’t too far from where we live.

“We have worked with the photographer, Alex, before, and this time we were also working with his daughter Sasha, who was assisting with the shoot.

“They were really kind, helpful and funny and that really increased how much fun the shoot was.”

And Khaled also didn’t have to travel far for his two-day assignment for Campo Viejo wines.

“I just wanted to tell you what a fantastic time I had at my recent advert shoot.

“I arrived to be greeted by friendly hosts who kept me informed of what was happening at all times.

“The location was easy to get to and didn’t take long from where I live.”

“I can’t wait for my next job.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you – it was a great two days.”
