UK brands love real people – why relatable models are in high demand

We’ve worked with a lot of brands. When we say “a lot”, we mean thousands. And we’re still working with them, all the while gaining new ones along the way.

Though we give opportunities for models to work abroad, it’s the UK where the majority of our models find success. That’s unsurprising, of course, so this blog reveals why so many UK brands keep returning to us in their quest for the best commercial models. Why do they appreciate real people, and why have the brands been with us for so long?

In a time where AI is all the rage (and in some cases we agree that this technology can be useful), it’s refreshing to hear so many innovative brands prefer natural talent to boost marketing campaigns and improve their business. They need a trusted source – somewhere where people are recommended to them because of their looks and skills. That’s where we come into our own; our expert booking team have been providing esteemed companies with models for years, and brands know that Models Direct is the best chance they have to secure top modelling talent anywhere around the country.

We’re not restricted by geographical boundaries, so we can place models with brands in all corners of the UK and usually in a short timeframe if that’s what’s needed. Consistency and reputation are important to us and our brands; it’s a brilliant working relationship that has grown every year.

So, brands trust us to make the right suggestions, and they trust us to keep providing the right models for their needs.

Why do UK brands love real people in the modelling world? We’ve mentioned that AI is used in some aspects of modern life, and it certainly could work wonders in many situations in years to come. We’re not blind to consider the possibilities of AI – and neither are progressive brands around the world – but what is it about real people that influences the decisions of so many brands in their marketing choices?

We think the answer lies in four words:

  • Empathy
  • Engagement
  • Relatability
  • Talent

Real people portray the truest and most accurate range of emotions. They can follow guidelines and instructions precisely. Real people, of course, are not perfect, but they don’t “break down” due to technical difficulties.

Real people best represent a brand’s key audiences and customers, because those are – you guessed it – real people too.

Customers don’t like to be ripped off; we’ve seen many people’s opinions of fakery posted on social media sights, and there’s clearly something synthetic and insincere about AI models. There isn’t any technology that can relate to humans on any scale comparable with real people. Not forgetting pure talent, of course. Sure, we marvel at technology, and we appreciate the skill and research that is needed to produce wondrous inventions, but brands still want real people to help them engage with potential customers.

This blog isn’t a rant. We want people to be open to all possibilities and opportunities. It can’t be denied, however, that UK brands keep coming back to the tried-and-tested success rate of real people in their campaigns. And why wouldn’t they?

We need real people all the time, simply because they’re always in high demand. As the number of modelling assignments increase, as do the need for more models.

If you haven’t joined us already, you’re just a few clicks and a couple of minutes away from increasing your chances of using real talents and looks in exciting jobs. Now, that’s a marvel in itself.
