Hearing what models have to say about their assignment experience is amazing and so useful – a real insight to what it’s like working as a commercial model!
“At first I was really nervous because this was my first assignment – it turned out to be not that scary though! It was such a fun day and I met great people, one of which was a Models Direct model. We had to have shots taken for Solent Forts Hotel, and present its features in the best way. It was such a pleasure to spend the day in such a beautiful place! I had a great time on my first photo shoot, and now I am sure that I made the best choice to become a model.” – Simona
With the competitiveness of the modelling world today many models with disabilities are overlooked, however at Models Direct, our policy is to offer all our models the same opportunities whether they have disabilities or not!!
Models Direct are delighted to be able to represent models with a variety of disabilities, ranging from wheelchair users, amputees and other disabilities that may have held them back from being part of an industry they have always dreamt of! However it’s all possible and more than ever there is a demand in the modelling world for diverse models who represent such a large percentage of the worlds population.
One of our newest model families on the Models Direct’s books gives us an insight into their experience so far…
“Our experience with Models Direct has been so positive so far! We initially came into contact through my sister in law (and business partner) who was chosen to be a part of a shoot for a huge global tech company. Our whole family ended up being involved and from start to finish the whole process was so enjoyable and professional. The shoot was over two days and was so well organised and we were so looked after that it didn’t even feel like work! It was so fun!
Models Direct were really thorough but also really approachable and friendly, I was so grateful to be a part of such a huge campaign and my daughter Ava had a wonderful day!
A few weeks later our family then got offered to do a video shoot for Yale’s new home security system. The shoot was such a pleasure to be a part of, the house was AMAZING and super child friendly with loads of toys that the girls could play with (which made it so much easier) and the team were so down to earth and friendly. They made us feel so relaxed and comfortable and it all went so quickly!
From both our experiences I could only say positive things about Models Direct. Working with young children on photo shoots can sometimes be so stressful, but everything was really well thought out on both occasions and I would definitely recommend to other families looking to work in the industry.”
With family modelling at an all time high, the demand for ‘real’ family models is in demand – so Models Direct were keen to hear from Rebecca who along with her husband and 3 children have just completed their 7th assignment with us!
“Working as a modelling family is a mixture of excitement and apprehension. As any mum knows if your going anywhere with your children you want them to be on there best behaviour.
This is no different on a photo shoot, so when your asking 3 of your children to stand up straight, smile, look happy continuously while taking direction from the photograph as well it can be challenging.
Luckily, we work with Models Direct and have always been so well looked after, from lunches being put on for the children, to overnight accommodation, to letting the children have 15 minutes time out so they can chill, go on there iPad etc.
We have now had 7 assignments and I can’t believe how lucky we are my son says its all down to his fantastic good looks.
When I first signed up to Models Direct I was a little skeptical hearing stories of people paying thousands of pounds for pictures to be done because the agency they had chosen had asked them to do so then signing a 3-year deal and not getting a single job. When I spoke to Molly for the first time from the Models Direct agency she immediately put my mind at easy, she said she only needed photos that we had taken ourselves, nice natural photos work the best, so the client can get a real feel for who you are and how you look in front of a camera. I told my children if we were lucky enough to get 1 job we would be extremely lucky.
Here we are several years later and now on our 8th job. We have managed to do so much with are extra money that has come in from our job, just little things like being able to spoil the kids a little, to a weekend away for the family to now having our garden landscaped and having a hot tub fitted.
My husband and I are so proud of our children and though it’s hard days working, keeping up with the photograph and the clients needs . We now would never look back and look forward to the next 7 assignments.” – Rebecca Friend
