“On Wednesday I had my first assignment through Models Direct. We did 2 commercials for Pukka Pads. One was for a Pukka Fun Colouring Book where we used iPads to scan it and it would come to life and it was really cool. The second one was for hs really cool putty and I had just an amazing time.” – Zane
“Models Direct got me an assignment with Bracket Films for a Nokia commercial. I had to travel all the way from Paddington to Reading, but once we got to the station and meet the crew, we were taken care of with smiles and abundant coffee. The whole filming process was fun and I got to play multiple roles, from a normal commuting adolescent to a busking guitarist. It ended slightly later than expected but nonetheless they cared about us from start to finish.”
Huge congratulations to this month’s model of the month………Neri Zaccardelli!!
“This assignment has been life changing and I was so calm and relaxed that by the second show, I knew where to look, what camera was shooting where and what responses to give.”
Neri was selected earlier in the month to work on Ideal World TV and was a huge success, so much so they now regularly book her for other products and features! – Congratulations from the Models Direct team!
“In character for a large well known high street bank….“
“Myself and 2 other models/actors spent the day shooting a commercial for a Santander UK group pension scheme. The shots showcased family fun, in which I played the daughter role. We filmed a variety of different scenes including shopping at Greenwich market, drinking coffee at a cafe and walking along the Thames. This was my first job with the agency and I received excellent guidance from Marie. I was prepped well before the shooting date with all the necessary information. The day of shoot itself was efficiently organised and run professionally. A fantastic experience!”
Huge congratulations to 10 of our models who were successfully selected to star in a commercial campaign for Heathrow Airport this week!!
The Models Direct team were delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to our models, here’s how they got on!
“Hi, I have just had a fabulous experience on my first assignment with Models Direct, courtesy of Molly at Models Direct and working with Ingenious on behalf of Heathrow Airport. Natalie met me on arrival, such a lovely lady, offering refreshments and kept me posted on the time frame and set up status of equipment etc. We started promptly at noon, Steve and Magnus, the team responsible for the shots, were great, made me feel relaxed and confident. We had an initial chat then onto some shots before an informal interview whilst being pictured. The whole experience was simple from start to finish, everywhere was of course accessible, parking was easy, directions and contact info all provided, just very very easy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and hope to promote diversity and inclusion as a wheelchair user in more campaigns such as this in the future. Many thanks to everyone involved in the selection process, it’s been a privilege. ” – Alex
Hearing what models have to say about their assignment experience is amazing and so useful – a real insight to what it’s like working as a commercial model!
“At first I was really nervous because this was my first assignment – it turned out to be not that scary though! It was such a fun day and I met great people, one of which was a Models Direct model. We had to have shots taken for Solent Forts Hotel, and present its features in the best way. It was such a pleasure to spend the day in such a beautiful place! I had a great time on my first photo shoot, and now I am sure that I made the best choice to become a model.” – Simona
With the competitiveness of the modelling world today many models with disabilities are overlooked, however at Models Direct, our policy is to offer all our models the same opportunities whether they have disabilities or not!!
Models Direct are delighted to be able to represent models with a variety of disabilities, ranging from wheelchair users, amputees and other disabilities that may have held them back from being part of an industry they have always dreamt of! However it’s all possible and more than ever there is a demand in the modelling world for diverse models who represent such a large percentage of the worlds population.
“Thanks to Models Direct I was given another assignment. I had a lot of laughs, fun with the other models & made new friends.” – Luke
For a men it can be difficult to know what an agency is looking for in a male model, What is important? What physique is best? How tall do I need to be? What kind of modelling would I be suitable for?
Recently there’s been some interesting articles in the media about modelling, what it takes to be a model and the expectations of models today in what is an incredibly competitive, driven and controversial industry….. with 28yrs experience Models Direct are now having their say!
There are lots of differences between fashion modelling and commercial modelling, however there are many similarities too. Trends and fashions come and go and this is the same for the type of models clients and designers are looking to book too. Clients will be looking for models who have the appropriate look, shape or character to portray their product/service in the most productive and effective way and appeal to their consumer. A model is someone the consumer aspires to be, so therefore great consideration is taken by a client when booking models for their latest campaign.
