The Spring and Summer months bring lots of exciting new developments at Models Direct Head Office, the assignments team are buzzing as outside shoots and filming schedules are confirmed and some lovely new faces join the books!
It’s stating the obvious, but the modelling and talent industry is incredibly competitive, however the Models Direct team have successfully matched models to clients for over 28 years now! – So we know what we’re looking for!

More often than not it’s the job of the booking coordinator here at Models Direct to search our database and try and find adults and children that look similar or could act as a family and present them to the client for their approval. Obviously this job could be a lot easier if they were actual REAL families!!

Models Direct’s client, Brides do Good are a social enterprise who sell luxury pre-loved and sample designer wedding gowns, up to two thirds of the sales of their collection of dresses are donated to their partner charities, Plan International and Too Young To Wed, to eradicate child marriage.

A lot of time and planning goes into every assignment by one of the booking coordinators at Models Direct. The coordinator will have built up a relationship with the client, will have spent time understanding their requirements and searched for the ideal models to put forward to the client as options – sometimes this can be quite a long winded process!
At Models Direct it is not essential to have professional pictures, we don’t ask our models to have expensive portfolios either, however it is essential to provide us with good, clear, up to date images of yourself, for us to have the best chance of securing you work.
Using animals in advertising has become a trend and it’s something us as the consumer see everyday. The nations big brands are launching their new marketing campaigns using cute and funny animals to promote their product or services – this is a very powerful marketing tool.
Animals, particularly baby animals, have very likable traits that make it easy for us to form emotional bonds, successful advertising is done by playing with our emotions and how something makes us feel – we will automatically be drawn to that particular brand if it makes us feel good or more to the point we are made to believe it will make us feel good!

Our little model Radisson secured his first assignment landing the starring role in a commercial for a new nursing/sports bra – at 1 yrs old that’s a massive deal!
For a mum it can be very nerve wracking taking a toddler on to a set with crew, models and of course expensive equipment, non of which are toddler friendly. The team at Models Direct always do their very best to make sure mum’s (and dad’s) are fully briefed before taking their little ones to assignments, but it always helps to hear other mum’s experiences of working in this industry with a toddler in tow – check out Radisson’s mum’s feedback:
Judging by the smile still on his face after his modelling assignment last weekend, there won’t be many people having a better Sunday then Isaac had. He picked up his first assignment as an extra with Models Direct modelling agency and in his own words…
