With the competitiveness of the modelling world today many models with disabilities are overlooked, however at Models Direct, our policy is to offer all our models the same opportunities whether they have disabilities or not!!
Models Direct are delighted to be able to represent models with a variety of disabilities, ranging from wheelchair users, amputees and other disabilities that may have held them back from being part of an industry they have always dreamt of! However it’s all possible and more than ever there is a demand in the modelling world for diverse models who represent such a large percentage of the worlds population.
“Another fab assignment working for Models Direct this time with ‘Brides do Good’ in London! Not only a beautiful brand but a beautiful concept to it too! Amazing people, creatives and location! The day was very successful and so much fun.
Thanks Models Direct ” – Elle Harris
Models Direct would like to say a huge congratulations to Elle, she has been selected for numerous assignments now with Models Direct and has such a great attitude to work!
The modelling industry is hard and super competitive, a model’s attitude, work ethos and reliability can make all the difference to their success!
The Models Direct team are super excited to see the final images from this beautiful shoot, bet they are amazing! Well done Elle
Assignment feedback is always helpful for the Models Direct team to receive from their models after an assignment…….
A lot of time and planning goes into every assignment by one of the booking coordinators at Models Direct. The coordinator will have built up a relationship with the client, will have spent time understanding their requirements and searched for the ideal models to put forward to the client as options – sometimes this can be quite a long winded process!
A good night’s sleep isn’t only good for our model looks, it’s also essential to staying healthy – but what can you do to avoid tossing and turning?
When we’re not walking up and down the catwalk or posing for photographs, the chances are we are sleeping. Considering we spend about 21 years of our life sleeping, burning the candle at both ends sounds an exciting alternative if there aren’t enough hours in the day, but a word of warning – sleep’s not only good for our looks, it’s also positively essential for our physical and mental health all of which are essential if you wish to succeed at modelling.
So what should you do if you’re going through a period of bad sleep? Well before rushing off to the doctor for sleeping pills, check out the Models Direct tips to getting a good night sleep.
Avoid the Supermodel diet of coffee, alcohol or nicotine, especially for three hours before turning in.
DO follow granny’s advice and have a warm milky drink. Granny must have known that dairy products contain tryptophan – a natural sleep inducer.
Exercise is good to help maintain that model body but exercise strenuously late at night giving you that buzz will keep you awake.
DO try some simple relaxation exercises – Lie on the floor or the bed and slowly work through your limbs and body, from your feet up to the top of your scalp, by stretching or clenching the muscles then relaxing them.
DON’T allow yourself to nod off during the evening.
Jump in the models favourite place, a hot bath, before you go to bed. As your body temperature drops afterwards, so you’ll begin to feel sleepier.
Make your bedroom a room you want to relax in – pale walls and bed linen – blue is a good colour for relaxation.
Make the room as dark as possible when the curtains are drawn and the lights switched off.
Don’t eat a heavy meal three to four hours before going to bed.
Do have a light carbohydrate snack – try a banana and a piece of toast – banana being another food rich in tryptophan.
Catalogues such as The Next Directory, Freemans, Kays and Look Again use many models from new born babies, children, teens, male and female models selling everyday products to consumers. Models Direct represent catalogue models and have provided models to well known clothing companies for many years.
Catalogue modelling can provide regular work because of the change in seasons each year which launches new clothing and trends. Pay is usually generous within this sector because of the vast number of images that are taken to display the ranges of clothes stocked by the company. These pictures are displayed in both print and online catalogues.
As an aspiring male model there are things you can do to give yourself the best shot at succeeding in the modelling world.
The modelling industry is very competitive and although your agent like Models Direct, will do the best they can to promote you and secure you assignments with companies and brands, they can not be YOU on the day, so it’s essential you know what is expected of you and how to make the best first impression, this is vital with agents and photographers!
Using animals in advertising has become a trend and it’s something us as the consumer see everyday. The nations big brands are launching their new marketing campaigns using cute and funny animals to promote their product or services – this is a very powerful marketing tool.
Animals, particularly baby animals, have very likable traits that make it easy for us to form emotional bonds, successful advertising is done by playing with our emotions and how something makes us feel – we will automatically be drawn to that particular brand if it makes us feel good or more to the point we are made to believe it will make us feel good!
