Supermodel icons such as Tyra Banks, Iman, and Naomi Campbell are still going from strength to strength and have helped to pave the way for diverse supermodel stardom for those in high-end fashion. But do we see this on a grassroots level, or rather, in other areas of modelling other than editorial fashion?
Diversity and inclusivity might have been thought of as buzzwords in the past, but both are here to stay, and we’ll tell you why.
The UK’s modelling industry is constantly seeing campaigns thrive with wonderful ideas and messages. They’re meant to be captivating, memorable, and impactful with a mission to make a difference, which most do!
So it only makes sense that when brands and companies are reaching out to advertise their products and/or services that they represent everyone, as our population’s demographics are ever-evolving, and to appeal to everyday, regular people.
We see plenty of models of different ages, dress sizes, genders, and ethnicities come forward and front campaigns making the modelling landscape rich in diversity and inclusivity.

Models Direct has been in the industry for 35 years now, and we’ve had some great campaigns we’d like to highlight with you, readers, so that you can see how we’ve been actively putting forward our amazing talent and how our clients have been calling for them.

Adithya (TSNY-6363) left us wonderful feedback about their experience with diverse models on their photoshoot:
“Working as a model with Models Direct was an enjoyable experience. The choreographers and lead were incredibly supportive and patient, especially during the learning phases of the dances. They were attentive to our needs, ensuring a comfortable and efficient work environment. The atmosphere was filled with fun and laughter, and I forged meaningful connections with a diverse group of people at the shoot, which added to the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of the experience.
Date of experience: 27 April 2024”
Centrepoint booked Japjeet (XTYR-6773) for their campaign. Here’s what they had to say:
“My first shoot was so fun, I enjoyed it a lot. Firstly, I went there and they gave snake for refreshment, and they made sure that I was comfortable and they provided lunch as well. Honestly, I was feeling like I was at home. Everyone was so friendly and supportive. And Charlie, who manages the booking and everything, gave me so much support. I asked for a fridge at the shoot, and she made sure that there would be a working fridge there. She called me the day before the shoot to make sure that I was ready for the day. Overall, my experience was great, and I would love to work more with Models Direct.”
Aashi and Rupail (NSNK-7369) were booked with our long-standing client, Morrisons. They had great words to say about the day.
“We got our first assignment via Models Direct, and we are very happy with the overall experience.”
