How can I get my children into modelling?

It is not unusual to see girls and boys appearing in adverts and promotions and to think to yourself: “My child could do that too!”

And, do you know what? They probably could!

There is lots of work available for junior models at the moment and if you think your child (or children) might be suitable then you ought to apply.

At Models Direct we have been working in the junior modelling business for over 30 years now.

And we not only have an in-depth understanding of the whole industry, but we also understand the very important differences between working with children and adults.

We have long-established relationships with clients who require child models on a regular basis – we are adept at recognising what they are looking for and trust that our youngsters will be in safe hands.

Many of us here at the Agency are parents ourselves and we know how important it is that you also feel reassured about every step of the process.

When you contact us, we can discuss this in much more detail with you and, if you are still interested, and think your child is confident and easy-going enough to work as a model, then we can help you to take it further.

We will require photographs of your child – these don’t have to be professionally taken but they must be clear, against a simple background and not filtered in any way by an app.

You will be asked to upload these to an e-portfolio and then we will request that you maintain and update this every few months as children grow and change so quickly.

If one of our clients is seeking junior models of your child’s age and description, then we may well come to you to discuss whether or not to suggest your little one.

If you like the sound of the assignment, and it fits in with your daily life, then your child will be put forward along with a small selection of other children who are on our books.

It is then up to our client to choose the child or children they think best matches their requirements.

If your child is among those, then we will contact you again to discuss all the arrangements for the assignment.

We will explain to you that you or your child’s other parent or carer will be expected to act as a chaperone and to attend the booking with your youngster.

The clients and production companies we work with are experienced at working with junior models and they understand what is required when working with children on a set.

Throughout the shoot, every step will be taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child at all times.

There will be plenty of breaks, lots of refreshments and the whole team will endeavour to make the day as fun as possible.

Junior modelling can be a very rewarding experience for the model and the parents – and we can assure you that your child will be in safe hands.

But don’t take our word for it!
