What better for all our models than to take advantage of the beautiful British summer to help them show us and our clients exactly what they can offer? This summer could be the year for some of our registered models to realise their potential and elevate themselves to Models Direct stardom.

Any dedicated model can use each season to adapt and alter their looks. Spring is a time for rebirth, autumn is perfect for blending in with the changing landscapes, and winter is ideal for festive film making and photos. But summer is possibly the preferred season for any model to get outside and improve their eportfolios with updated photos and captivating reels. And we can’t pretend that the warmer weather doesn’t play a huge part.
So, this summer, there’s no excuse to make use of the sun rays, light mornings, clear skies and longer evenings. In fact, later in the day is usually better for outdoor summer snaps because there is less glare from the sun and fewer shadows. Finding the perfect images and putting them in your Models Direct portfolio could make the difference when our clients scan portfolios after we’ve recommended models for jobs – all of which need to be filled.
We appreciate that many models like to change their looks, and that’s never a bad thing. But that doesn’t mean that models shouldn’t use natural backgrounds and the weather to create eye-catching shots that could transform them from one with casual aspirations to one that clients come back to time and time again.

You don’t need to venture abroad to capture stunning photos and reels. Use your local environment to assist you in finding inspirational images. If you live in urban areas, use high streets, city squares and parks, and prominent buildings to provide the perfect backdrops. These urban photos could be the deal-breaker for a range of promotional modelling jobs, where some of our clients are looking for sociable individuals to speak to the public on high streets. A perfect example is Bella being chosen for a Holland & Barrett promotion job, requiring her to be up front and personal to show off the famous brand’s latest deals. These types of assignments regularly crop up, so this summer would be an ideal time for models to let us see what skills they can offer.

Classic styles never go out fashion. They are always needed to capture the imagination in commercial modelling shoots. Plain T-shirts, ankle socks and above-the-knee shorts are quintessentially summer apparel for the gents; ladies can’t go wrong with floral dresses, light scarves and sandals.
However, feminine trends for 2025 set to be buttery yellows and powder pinks, with an occasional showing of sky blues not to be ignored. These are not our predictions – they’re derived from several notable fashion publications. Male trends for this summer are the comeback of retro sportswear and chunky belts.
Whatever style you want to portray, be confident and don’t forget to show us how ready you are for 2025 summer modelling jobs. We have them in abundance, and we need our models to fulfil the demand!
