Securing work as an extra in a film, TV show, commercial or stage/musical performance is very exciting! It’s a step in the door to get the opportunity to work in the industry and make the contacts you need to progress.
An extra normally appears in a nonspeaking or nonsinging capacity and usually in the background of a particular scene, some productions require large amounts of extras and other only need a few it completely depends on the project and the overall look.
Models Direct provides extras for many different clients in the industry and recently Molly from the Models Direct assignments team has been organising 50+ extra’s, adults and children for a large period drama film, being shot in Southampton – super exciting!

I joined the modelling agency because I like the idea of modelling on the side as I love taking photos, and the money and trying new and different things’.

Her first modelling assignment involved posing in winter coats while the photographer took her picture. A great experience for Megan as she looks to extend her skills as a model and actor.
