Lifestyle modelling might sound very grand however at Models Direct we believe it’s something almost anyone can do!
Most of us probably come across lifestyle campaigns and advertising several times a day, via the products we buy, hoardings and panels we pass, websites we view and brochures we pick up.
Lifestyle modelling calls on real people to look like real people – and there is no reason why you shouldn’t be one of those real people to do so!
So, here are our suggested first steps towards becoming a lifestyle model:
1. Sign up with a reputable agency
Read up on any agency or organisation you are considering joining to make sure they are regulated and reputable. Check their small print and if you are asked to tick a box to say you understand the organisation or individual you are sending your money to is NOT actually an agency then be aware, they will not be regulated as an agency has to be. This means you are unlikely to be put forward directly to clients and that your safety and welfare may well not be at the forefront of their considerations at all time.
2. Read about the experiences of other lifestyle models
See what other lifestyle models say about the work they do and then on that basis decide whether it might be for you. You can find out more about what they enjoyed or found challenging about particular assignments and how they enjoyed working with their team at their own agency.
3. Take some photographs
Any agency will want to see photographs of you, so they know which assignments to put you forward for. These pictures do not have to be taken by a professional photographer. In fact, because we ask you to update them regularly you are often better asking a friend or relative to take them for you. But do follow our advice as to how they should be taken and supplied to us.
4. Apply as soon as you can!
The sooner you fill in an application form and send us some photographs, the sooner we can asses your modelling potential and start putting you forward for work. We never put pressure on you to accept a booking and will always ensure you fully understand the requirements of the booking and are happy to take it on.
