Social bubbles – why family and household modelling is flying high

It’s been a hard year for many of us and, although there is some light at the end of the tunnel, life is unlikely to get back to normal for some time to come.

But through the difficulties of the past few months, there have been many moments of positivity, hope and joy – and some of these have occurred within our worlds of work.

For us at Models Direct, seeing how clients, crew and models themselves have overcome the problems of Covid has been hugely encouraging and inspirational.

By working together and following the latest safety guidelines, they have found solutions to ensure many modelling projects have been able to continue safely for all those involved.

One key to this success has been to work with multiple models who are in social bubbles.

By employing real model families and household groups – who don’t have to social distance – shoots have been so much easier to conduct.

Parents working with their own children; siblings modelling together and household members who are able to interact in their usual way, results in much more natural photography and film.

Models Direct has always encouraged families, couples and households to put themselves forward to the modelling agency together – and now has never been a better time to do so.

Recently, for example, we fulfilled an assignment for Holland Pies UK – and of the 11 models they booked through us, four came from one family and three from another.

So, whether you are new to the business or are already on our books, why not consider whether you could work with your family, partner or housemates?

After all, this how the Burton family described one of their family modelling days out on a shoot;

“Yet again another fab day on an assignment for Models Direct. We have had a brilliant day on our photo shoot for a pensions’ brochure.

Meqele, Ben and Simon all looked after us really well and made the day so much fun. We started our day in a home environment, baking and having fun in and around the house.

We then moved on to the Battersea Park Zoo: the kids thought it was amazing, especially feeding and petting the animals.

We finished off with ice cream and playing ball in Battersea Park. What a fun-filled day, very tiring but lots of fun.

A big thanks to Marie from Models Direct for putting us forward for the job. We look forward to more adventures soon.”

The coming months could well see increased demand for models who are social bubbles and you and your family or household members could be just what we are looking for…
