……Always wanted to be a model, but unsure where to start?
Models Direct team regularly hears this question. Our industry is a minefield with a variety of companies claiming to be modelling agencies, it’s not easy to know who would be most suited to launch your modelling career. The more promises and maybes you read, the less likely they can help. In the first place in the tiny print you’ll read ‘We’re not an agency and therefore don’t find work’. Following that legally required admission, it’s all downhill offering only ‘photos and advice’.Read more
A very exciting female empowerment collaboration took place in Liverpool last week and Models Direct were delighted to provide the models who were certainly given a day to remember….
Models Direct’s booking agent Charlie, coordinated the models for an exciting collaboration of two big brands, the brief from the client was they wanted ‘real’ women all with different hair types and based in the Liverpool area – no problem!!
Tips for being your best on a promotional assignment!
Promotional modelling is a great way to get into the world of modelling, Models Direct supply promotional models to a large selection of different clients across the UK. Promotional models are used at store openings, clubs, trade shows and public events to promote a business, service or product. This can involve handing out leaflets, chatting to visitors or maybe getting visitors to fill out a competition form. Whatever type of promotion modelling is offered, it’s a good introduction to modelling and can earn you some extra money.
Catalogues such as The Next Directory, Freemans, Kays and Look Again use many models from new born babies, children, teens, male and female models selling everyday products to consumers. Models Direct represent catalogue models and have provided models to well known clothing companies for many years.
Catalogue modelling can provide regular work because of the change in seasons each year which launches new clothing and trends. Pay is usually generous within this sector because of the vast number of images that are taken to display the ranges of clothes stocked by the company. These pictures are displayed in both print and online catalogues.
Female Model Janina tells us what it is like working for Models Direct modelling:
“It was a really interesting and fun day. I was very well briefed beforehand by Talent Management with regards to clothing and location so I felt very confident with what I was expected to do on the day. The photographer made everyone feel at ease and was very professional – he had a lovely manner. We all had a great time doing the shoot. I would love to do it all again, and I highly recommend Talent Management as an agency.”
