At Models Direct we have a very clear process for all our bookings and we always explain to anyone joining us for the very first time exactly how this works.
The assignments themselves can be very different – anything from an afternoon of promotional work in a town or city near to where you live, right through several days of photo shoots in a foreign location.
But the process we, our clients and our models go through for making and accepting bookings is always the same.
1 A client comes to us and requests a model (or models) for a particular assignment. They tell us exactly what is involved. If the client is new we check them out thoroughly. With each booking, we gain enough information to decide if it is suitable for us as an agency and our models. If we are unhappy for any reason, then we reject it.
2 If we are happy to go ahead, then we search through the e-portfolios that our models maintain to find people who meet the exact requirements of our client. For example, the client might request a female model, aged about 30, with long, red hair, who is 5ft tall and a size 12. They may also ask for a plus-size male model, aged about 60, with greying hair and 6ft tall. We gather a selection of models who fit these descriptions and then we give these to our client.
3 Our client selects the model (or models) they would like to use for the shoot or event.
4 We contact the model (or models) to confirm they would like to accept the job, give them more details and discuss the fee.
5 If the model wishes to accept the booking, we keep them informed and up to date as the day approaches and are always there on the end of the phone to answer their questions.
6 Once the model arrives at the booking they will be looked after by the production crew, photographer, director or another member of the team. They will be told what to do, when they will be needed and whether they should go to hair, make-up or wardrobe.
7 After the booking we ask our models to give us feedback and we ensure they are paid promptly.
