Making your ePortfolio spring friendly

The season to be jolly may be over, but now it’s the season to shine!

Spring should give all models the impetus to improve their ePortfolios. Showcasing new looks and skills is often the difference between not being seen and being at the forefront of our attention! Remaining indifferent to change is a curse! We need our models to be proactive and embrace progression, so your ePortfolio needs to be accurate to reflect what you can offer our huge list of wonderful clients.

What can you do to promote yourself in the upcoming months? Just as the seasons change, so should your photos. You don’t have to take new snaps or change looks on a weekly basis, but we do recommend revamping ePortfolios whenever a shift in weather occurs, or if you’ve treated yourself to a much-needed makeover.

A good idea would be to set aside a date once a month or every six weeks and concentrate on what you should upload, and which photos can be deleted. As always, organisation plays a huge part in any model’s success, and this system could work wonders when our booking team search for the ideal models for the constant stream of client requests. You don’t want to be left behind, so don’t leave updating your photos to the last minute.

Let’s start off with spring fashions. If you keep a close eye on trends, you might know that top picks for females this spring are light chequered shirts, multi-pocketed cargo trousers (but not too baggy) and denim skirts. Assuming you’ve already sent us the obligatory headshots, stay in the game by showing off your looks in current fashions.

For the chaps, flaunting bright white vests over dogtooth designs is set to be huge. Skimpy shorts (ooh-er!) highlighting a decent set of pins are also set to be popular. Gents rocking flat caps similar to the Peaky Blinders will be in fashion, too, as well as chunky chains to add a bit of bling to proceedings.

Babies and more mature models are just as important to our business. If infants have developed teeth or begun to grow gorgeous locks of hair, make sure to let us know via the ePortfolio. Take advantage of the fine spring months by photographing toddlers under cloudless skies or surrounded by blooming flowers. Capture them amongst dazzling blues and natural greens to really bring out the good-time feelings that spring offers.

Spring is a time for positive vibes. Though some winters do present sensational photo opportunities (and we always encourage our models to take advantage of snowy backdrops and frosty scenery), focus on warmer climes to come and look forward to getting your ePortfolio in the best possible shape.

If you’re a dog owner, why not maximise a spring photo shoot by taking your iPhone or camera on a dog walking session? We might discover another model-in-the-making: your four-legged friend!

eProfiles / Portfolios should have a good mix of personal snaps, so if you know you only have a couple, it really is in your best interest to upload a handful more. Make this spring the time for you to shine! We look forward to seeing them, and to recommending your talent to our clients!
